A new life looks something like 2mm tall – not much bigger than your thumbnail nowadays either: just enough time for amniotic fluids surrounding this miniature human being before birth, and this fluid is essential for life too.
At three weeks pregnant, the main change in your uterus is that it’s becoming heart-shaped. Your baby doesn’t have a heartbeat yet. Still, this early on during pregnancy, the uterus is starting to change shape because of the presence of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is released by cells right around implantation time. Your body is going through a lot of changes at this stage. Some women experience pregnancy symptoms in week 3, while others do not realize that they are pregnant until later. Here, we will look at some common early signs and symptoms and your baby’s appearance in the third week of pregnancy.
- Emotions: Pregnancy can be an emotional roller coaster, even this early. You may feel excited and anxious as you wait to take a pregnancy test, or perhaps nervous with anticipation of what the results will show- either way, it’s natural for there to range from one emotion (or more!) at different points during your journey into motherhood.

- Energy Level: As your hormones are still adjusting, your energy levels may be up and down. 3 Weeks Fetus
At three weeks old, your baby is about the size of a poppy seed. They’re starting to develop their facial features, including their eyes, nose, and mouth. Their arms and legs are also beginning to form, and they have started to grow little webbed fingers and toes. Although they’re still very tiny, your baby is growing rapidly and is already beginning to look like a human being.
Despite their small size, 3-week-old fetuses are quite developed. They have a beating heart and are starting to circulate their own blood. 3 Weeks Pregnant Belly
Your 3-week pregnant belly is well-shaped. It’s hardly noticeable yet, but you will surely have one in the next couple of weeks. Except for the pregnancy hormones, your 3-week pregnant belly is due to the uterine implantation bleeding that happened after the fertilized egg attached itself to the uterus lining. This process often causes light vaginal bleeding, brown spotting, or even cramping symptoms which you may be familiar with if you have previously experienced a miscarriage. However, the symptoms are so mild that many women don’t even notice them.

However, unless you’ve had a previous pelvic infection or cervical abnormality, the only way to know if you have an abnormal cervix is at your prenatal exam.
3 Weeks Pregnant: What to Expect
By this time, you might be feeling a little bit queasy. That’s because your hormone levels have increased dramatically at three weeks pregnant, and so has the rate of blood flow in your body. So you could feel dizzy or lightheaded when you get up suddenly from a seated or lying down position.
